I made history by becoming the first person to run eight marathons in eight consecutive days across all eight of Australia's states and territories. This incredible feat, completed in March 2025, was the culmination of my 58-2-58 challenge, which saw me run 58 marathons in 58 days across the United States and Australia.

The Australian Marathon Odyssey

My Australian marathon odyssey began on March 13, 2025, when I landed in Sydney. From there, I embarked on a whirlwind tour of the country, running a full marathon in each state and territory. My route took me from Sydney to Canberra, then to Melbourne, Tasmania, Adelaide, Perth, Darwin, and finally, Brisbane.

In each location, I faced unique challenges, from the humid heat of Darwin to the cool weather of Tasmania. Despite the physical and mental toll of running a marathon every day and constantly travelling, I remained focused on the goal and pushed through each challenge with grit and determination.

A Record-Breaking Achievement

By completing eight marathons in eight days across all Australian states and territories, I set a new record that may stand for years to come. This achievement is a testament to incredible endurance, mental toughness, and dedication to the craft.

This accomplishment is even more significant when considered in the context of the larger 58-2-58 challenge. Prior to arriving in Australia, I had already run 50 marathons in 50 days across the United States. The Australian leg of the challenge was the final push in a gruelling test of human endurance.

Raising Awareness and Funds for Mental Health

Beyond the personal achievement, my 58-2-58 challenge had a greater purpose: raising awareness and funds for mental health charities. Through these efforts, I raised over $160,000 to support those struggling with mental health issues.

By using my platform and these feats of endurance to shed light on mental health, I wanted to show that athletes can use their passion and dedication to make a positive impact on the world. This journey has inspired countless others to push their limits and to support causes they believe in.

What This Proved

Running eight marathons in eight days across all Australian states and territories is a true testament to the power of the human spirit. As the final leg of my 58-2-58 challenge, this feat cemented my place in the history of endurance sports and showed the world what can be accomplished with determination, grit, and a desire to make a difference.

If I can do this, imagine what you're capable of when you commit fully to something that matters.
